The monies disbursed were raised through the league's major fund- raising projects, "Fair Diddley" in May and the "Home for the Holidays" fashion show and boutique in October. Among recipients are: * Pioneer center, which received nearly $2,400 for equipment for the "Birth to Three" program, the Family Service and Community Mental center for funding of an additional "800" crisis line for approximately $2,250, and the Northern Illinois Special Recreation association, a grant of $1,500 for transportation needs. Other recipients include: SEDOM center, funding for equipment; Family Alliance for transportation of clients; the Youth Service Bureau for funds for the Substance Abuse program; the Memorial hospital in Woodstock, recreation equipment for patients in the Psychiatric Inpatient program; and Turning Point, Inc. All of the above agencies have received funding in some manner from the league in the past, and the league is continuing to honor its commitment to these vital organizations. In addition, this year the Mental Health Resource league is funding a number of agencies for the first time. These agencies include the Hospice for McHenry County for care for the terminally ill and their families, the McHenry County Jail Rehabilitation program, for counseling for ex- offenders, Youth Opportunitities Unlimited, and the McHenry County Alternative school, now based in Woodstock. These groups will receive a total of $4,500 or almost 25 percent of the league's total disbursements. The Mental Health Rescource League for McHenry County is comprised of citizens who are con cerned about mental health services and facilities available to county residents, and as such, support is given in the form of financial aid and volunteer services. Anyone interested in joining this over 200-member, county-wide organization, is invited to attend the league's annual meeting and mem bership brunch, Monday, Feb. 7th at the Cattlemen's restaurant in Algonquin.
