Don Peasley Photography Nunda Tojynship Hearing On Vehicle Lease In order to extend accessible transportation throughout the rural areas of Nunda township, a public meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Mon day, Feb. 28, at the Nunda township town hall, 3510 Bay road, Crystal Lake, to discuss the proposed leasing of small lift equipped vehicles from the RTA. These vehicles would be approximately 21 feet long coach or equipment fortibuses which will seat at least 12 passengers or eight passengers and two wheelchairs. The funding would be provided through Revenue Sharing and the service not be available until January, 1984. The main function of the service is to provide transportation for the elderly and handicapped of the community, but it will be available to all citizens residing within the boundaries of Nunda township. The transportation system would require 24-hour notice in advance of the time of pickup. The vehicles would operate solely within the rural boundaries of the township for a suggested fee of one dollar and-or 50 cents for the elderly and students. It would be up to individuals using the Paratransit Vehicle Lease program to make arrangements for connecting Dial-A-Ride buses within city limits. There is a possibility of working out reciprocal arrangements with the City of Crystal Lake and perhaps other entities that enlist the RTA services. Any person residing within the township wishing to express an opinion on the proposed Paratransit Vehicle Lease program is encouraged to write the Nunda township super visor, Anita Sherwood, at 3510 Bay road, Crystal Lake, or call 459-4011 during the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. iiiMi«aiiiiiiinlCi Lv.-i F B I G T O H " ?
