They also have six grandchildren. Mrs. Benoy was born and raised near Ringwood and graduated from McHenry high school in 1940. Her husband moved to Greenwood in the early 1930s and graduated from Woodstock high school in 1937. The couple moved to Elkhorn, Wis. in the Spring of 1947, where they are still farming. The ^fashion show features over 45 outfits from 14 McHenry area shops and includes Hboth men's and women's wear, children's clothing, sportswear and western *«apparel. STAFF PHOTO-WAYNF HAY LORD Set Cesarean Film Dance-A-Thon Aids Easter Seals Showing Feb. 17 Memorial Hospital for McHenry County, Woodstock, is sponsoring a showing of the film "A Shared Cesarean Beginning" on Thursday, Feb. 17, at 8 p.m., in the third floor conference room at the hospital. Hie film documents the experience of a young couple as they prepare for, and share together the cesarean birth of their second child. The documentation of the birth and spontaneity of the young parents makes the events of the delivery room touching as well as informative. Anyone interested is invited to attend. C&PA Holds Fund Raising Auction atXa Tnan&a restaurant; 14, Woodstock, Tuesday, Feb. 22, at 7:30 p.m. Proceeds from the auctio^ will go to the Childbirth and parenting association of McHenry county, a nonprofit organization which promotes healthy and happy families through educated approaches to birth and parenting. The auction is open to the public and many good values are to be found. Gift certificates and merchandise from local businesses have been donated. Many hand-crafted items will be auctioned as well. Shown dancing for the Easter Seal-WXRD 1983 Dance-A- Thon are McHenry County college students Dean Howard, on the left, and Tammy Dunham. Pledges of $18,520 were garnered in the event by 102 dancers to benefit the Easter Seal Society of McHenry County, located in Woodstock. Friday, Feb. 18, from 7 to 11 p.m., in the MCC cafeteria, dancers will bring in collected pledges and receive prizes based on the amount of money they collected. Prizes to be awarded to top money raisers include a $600 weekend for two (three days and two nights) at an area resort; a $200 personal computer; a $150 opal and garnet ring; $150 video game with cartridges; $100 man's wristwatch; $89 12-inch television set; $85 cross country skis; $85 road and rail set; $50 check from a bank and a $50 savings bond. SUZANNE DIEDRICH When the McHenry Business and Professional Women's club meets for its regular monthly meeting Monday, Feb. 28, the program portion of the evening will feature Suzanne Diedrich, who will speak on Gemology. Ms. Diedrich, the daughter of Kenneth and Marie Diedrich of McHenry, was born and raised in McHenry and graduated from Marian Central Catholic high school in 1979. She started workine Dart-time for a jewelry store in McHenry at an early age and took over management of the business at 18. In 1980 she began the study of diamonds with the Gemological Institute of America, Santa Monica, Calif., and received a Diamond Grading diploma May 14, 1981. She took a resident course on Diamond Setting from the same institute in 1981 and is still studying the Appraisal of Gems, by correspondence, on a scholarship through the Illinois Jewelers association. She will graduate in October of 1983 with a degree of "Graduate Gemologist',. The Foundations committee of the club will hostess the evening at Kristof's Cirkus, where cocktails will be available at 6:30 p.m. and dinner served at 7. All members of the McHenry BPW are urged to attend and bring guests. Interested non- members are always welcome and can make reservations by calling 385- 0258. On Tuesday, Feb. 8, Lynne Donarski, president of the club, called a meeting of all committee chairmen in the McHenry Public Library. Topics of discussion included Women's History Week, the district meeting to be hosted by the McHenry BPW club Sunday, Mar. 20, and the annual card party to be held Wednesday, Apr. 27. The McHenry County H.E.A. J works through the Cooperative I Extension Service of the University of Illinois to brine up-to-date information on all aspects of homemaking and family living to its members. Thursday, Feb. 24, has been set aside as the "Big Day" to celebrate H.E.A. Week in McHenry county. A full day's activities are planned at T.C. Spirits in Crystal Lake. Included are a program by an insurance company, a cultural arts contest, new members' recognition, luncheon, ahd entertainment. Cultural arts winners will send their entries for competition at the Illinois Homemakers Extension Federation convention in Champaign in late March. Membership in H.E.A. is open to all interested persons regardless of race, religion, or sex.
