Conservative measures consist of "trimming"'the callus in conduction with padding, which affords temporary relief. Orthotics can be fabricated in an attempt to stabilize and align the bone structures on the foot. This may relieve the symptoms and reduco the painful callus formation. Surgery may be considered to relieve the condition, in an effort to lift the affected metatarsal bringing it into alignment and reducing the pressure area. Painful corns on the toes are commonly caused by bony spurs, or hammered or crooked toes, which will not lie flat in a shoe. Surgical treatment is con sidered when the, toe becomes locked into a ham mered position. Relief can be attained by surgically removing the section of bone, unlocking the joint and flattening the toe to a more normal position. m. Here it is-the ruler of its class. The Kawa saki KZ750. Most uncomfortable seating is Woodstock and the top row at Jacobs. The best programs this year at Dundee. With the closing of the school, they had a good one. Worst concession area is at Woodstock (hard to get to and from in the crowd. Warmest gym McHenry, worst P.A. tie between McHenry and Crown. We felt all the cheerleaders did an excellent job and they should all get first place ribbons. The Warriors get a blue ribbon for student fans and adult fans; They are the best in the Fox Valley by a widiTtnargin. Tim Hughes, a fdrmer Warrior, is on leave from the Marine Corps. Tim played football and made the all-Marine All Star team while in California. Tim will be on his way to Okinawa in the near future and Warrior fans wish him the best of luck. 0 Down memory lane to the 1966-67 season when the Warriors won only two games and we are listing their 70-65 win over Libertyville. All parents of players, managers, cheerleaders ana pom-pon girls will be honored before the ballgame. This should give the Warriors a boost in their bid to unseat the Eagles. The Eagles and Crystal Lake South are both tied for the Fox Valley Conference lead and tonight is the final game of the season. The Eagles have never won in Buckner Gym, and the Warriors gave the Eagles all they could .handle in their first encounter. They won by a two point margin. A good crowd should be on hand and we hope ' the Warriors respond with some fine basketball. Tourneyplay for class AA begins next week. The Warriors have a couple days off, before beginning play next Wednesday. They play the winner of the Crystal Lake Central and Cary- Grove game. Woodstock and South meet in the other game with the winners playing for the championship. It could be a South versus Warrior final. Took in class A Johnsburg regional on XMbnday night. Marengo has to be the tallest team in the area. They start at6-foot-2 and go to 6-foot-9. North Boone tried to slow it down, but had neither the quality or quanitity to do the job. The Indians of Bill Barry seem to be the class of the tourney, unless an upset occurs. Was impressed witn tne passing and shooting of Marian Central's Chuck Hartlieb. The young junior seems to have eyes in the back of his head, as he can find the open man at any time. His long shots from the corner almost beat Richmond, but a lapse in defense in the closing minutes led to the Canes downfall. Scoreboard It was quite different to see all four teams use a zone defense, as in the FVCat is a tight man to man defense all over the court. The Johnsburg staff has done an excellent job of putting on the tourney, and if the Skyhawks can reach the finals, there will be standing room only. Dave Mihevc and I in our travels around the FVC, have come up with some interesting tidbits. Dave has promised to answer any complaints. The best popcorn -- right here in By Dick Rabbitt On The Sidelines McHenry, most comfortable seating -- Central and McHenry with the best lighting. Worst lighting is at Woodstock The most comfortable temperature is Cary- Grove (it's actually cool). The best parking is at Crown and Dundee (easy to exit from two places). The worst place to exit is Crystal Lake South (give yourself a lot of time to get home). The best concession area is Dundee, they have seats. The best pep band a tie between Cary- Grove and Crown. The besthospitalityis at Cary-Grove. The best
