Solon road, Richmond, by mem­ bers of a Metropolitan Enforcement team and the McHenry County Sheriff's police. David Maschinski, 27, 9204 N. Solon road, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of cannabis and possession of firearms without a Firearm Owner's Iden­ tification (FOI) card. Bond was set at $7,000. Michael Konnelly, 30, 623 Wilshire, Arlington Heights, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of cannabis. Bond was set at $6,000. Both were free after making bond. Investigate Thefts McHenry County Sheriffs police investigated the theft of a car from the home of Patricia Lobinsky, 608 N. River road, McHenry. Ms. Lobinsky told police she heard a noise Sunday and saw someone driving away in her auto. The vehicle was later found at Jerry's tap, on Burnett road, southeast of McHenry. Daniel Reinagle, 1008 Totem trail, McHenry, called the county police when he discovered that someone stole an AM-FM radio and a cassette deck from his car. The vehicle was parked in the driveway of his home. The police were also called to McHenTy Manufacturing Co., 3011 W. Route 120, McHenry, where about $10 in change was stolen from a register. A vending machine was also broken into and six food bars were taken. Local Libraries Awarded Grants Secretary of State and State Librarian Jim Edgar has announced that a total of $37,772.38 equalization aid and-or per capita grants has been awarded to nine libraries in McHenry county. "A total of $4.9 million in equalization aid and per capita grants is being distributed to 413 Illinois public libraries this year," Edgar said. "These funds, awarded to libraries already receiving local tax support, may be used to pay for personnel, library materials or other library operating costs." The McHenry county libraries receiving the grants include McHenry Public library, 6,031; McHenry- Nunda Public Library district, 1,496.52. Established in 1977, the per capita grant program provides additional funding to local libraries levying a local tax and actively seeking revenue sharing funds. Edgar said that the amount of grant money awarded this year has increaased by ap­ proximately 2Vfe cents per capita over the amount awarded last year. The equalization aid, passed by the Illinois General Assembly in 1966, aids libraries levying a local tax of .13 or more. County Jews Plan Auction Professional services and mer­ chandise donated by local business people will go to the highest bidder at the April 24 auction sponsored by the McHenry County - Jewish congregation. Congregation members encourage community support and attendance. People interested in donating an item or service to the auction may eall Carol Bailenson or Lorraine Weisz. Items will be picked up. A very special item up for bid will be a weekend for two at an area hotel. The auction will start at 3 p.m. April 24, at the synagogue at 8617 Ridgefield road, Ridgefield.
