The deadly Triangle Since 1945, hundreds of ships and planes, and thousands of people have vanished without a trace in an area of the Atlantic Ocean off Florida known fis the Bermuda Triangle. On Tuesday, March 15, Nova investigates the mystery surround­ ing these strange disappearances in "The Case of the Bermu­ da Triangle." It's reported that an avergae of four boats and two air­ planes set off into the Triangle every month -- and never return. Some pilots are said to avoid the area because their instruments unaccountably stop functioning there. These events have led some people to think something powerful, sinister, or perhaps supernatural is lying in -- or perhaps under -- that part of the Atlantic. Is there a reasonable explanation for these strange reports and events? Nova traces some of the most famous reports, searching for clues, testing theories and finally penetrating the mystery of the friangle.
