Legal Notice ORDINANCE 83-1 Vehicle Weight "• Restriction, WHEREAS, the/High- •! ways of McHenry ' • Towtiship Road District, McHenry County, Illinois, by reason of deterioration, rain, snow, or other climatic conditions will be seriously damaged or destroyed unless the use of vehicles thereon is prohibited or the per­ missible weignts thereof are reduced; and WHEREAS, in ac­ cordance with the Ill­ inois Revised Statutes, Chapter 95^, Section 15- 316. the road district highway commissioner with respect to high­ ways, streets and roads under his jurisdiction may by ordinance prohibit the operation of vehicles upon any such highway or impose restrictions as to the weight of vehicles to be operated upon any such highway, for a total period of not to exceed 90 days in any one calendar year; such p r o h i b i t i o n o r restriction to be designated by signs erected at each end of that portion of any high­ way affected thereby; NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED: SECTION I: That the Highway Commissioner of McHenry Township may erect or cause to be e r e c t e d , s i g n s designating a weight ' • limitation of 8,000 IDS. per axle on any or all ° McHenry Township Road District highways, streets or roads unaer his jurisdiction in ac­ cordance with Illinois Revised Statutes, Chapter 95^, Section 15- 316. SECTION II: That such signs shall be erected and maintained at each end of that portion of any highway affected thereby, ana this or­ dinance shall not be effective unless and until such signs are erected and maintained. SECTION III: That any person, firm, or cor­ poration operating or moving a motor vehicle in violation^ this Or­ dinance sh£m" be fined according to the amount set forth in the Illinois Revised Statutes, • Chaper 95Vfe, relating to weight limitations. SECTION IV: That vehicles regularly operated by Federal, State, and local governmental entities and public utilities are exempt from the provisions of this or­ dinance; however, such exempt vehicles shall be safely operated away from the edge of the pavement whenever possible. SECTION V: That all previous Ordinances and portions of Or­ dinances of McHenry Township Road District in conflict herewith are hereby rescinded. SECTION VI: That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication, as provided by law. PASSED AND AP­ PROVED this 7th day of March, 1983. Surviving are her husband William Johnson, whom she married Feb. 10, 1934; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Nancy) Rad of McHenry; two sons, Robert of Antioch, 111. and Donald of San Diego, Calif; four grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Erthlyn Twohey of Chicago. _ She was preceded in, death by one daughter and two brothers. Visitation was held Thursday from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m., in the George R. Justen & Son funeral home, with the Rev. He was born Feb. 8, 1907, in Omaha, Nebr., the son of Albert and Grace (Griswold) Sides. Mr. Sides retired from Commonwealth Edison Co. in 1969, after 38 years of service. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Paul (Donna) Peterson of McHenry; one son Stephen of Arizona; six grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Dorothy Knight of California. JSEPHINE KISS Josephine Kiss, 89, an Ingleside resident for the past 11 years, for­ merly of Chicago, died at McHenry hospital Wednesday, Mar. 9. She was born in Poland Mar. 6, 1894 and had been a member of the Senior Citizens club of Fox Lake and the Altar and Rosary Society of St. Joseph's church in Round Lake. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. A1^ (Laura) Ponte and Genevieve Borselli of Arizona, Mrs. Edward (Jeanette) Mack of Addison, 111., Mrs. Mary (Dr. Santo) Ruggero of Wonder Lake and Mrs. Mitchell (Frances) Foszcz of Ingleside; one sister, Mrs. Frank PAGE 5 - PLAINDEALERj- (Mary) Szumowski; 25 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Spring Flower Workshop At MCC A "Spring Flower" workshop will be held Monday, March 14, from 7 to 10 p.m. at McHenry County college. A demonstration using bulb flowers and foliage, the workshop will devote special attention to new bulb flowers available from Holland and South America. Each student will make a spring flower arrangement. All supplies are included in the fee. Participants are asked to bring a knife, wire cutters and shears. A second "Spring Flower" workshop is offered Friday, March 18, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Description and requirements are the same as the workshop above. "Spring In The Country" is a spring flower seminar scheduled from 7 to 10 p.m. Wednesday, March 23. Floral designers and commentators will explain the how and why of floral design, providing a floral review of fresh, silk and dried arrangement. The demonstration will consist of new * ideas, sharing and learning the techniques of floral art. The workshops and seminar are non-credit and will all be held in the theatre in McHenry County college's Applied Science building.
