NEEDLEPOINTERS STITCHERS & FRIENDS Members of Fox Chapter of the American Needlepoint Guild are proud to present their first exhibit and dinner Tuesday, April 12, at the Crystal Lake Country club, at 6 p.m. The exhibit will be of all the needlework projects, done for the year, and there will also be a display of new projects for the 1983-84 program which is based on 'color'. This will be a great opportunity for any avid needlepointer to join the guild, which meets the second Tuesday of each month in the morning or evening. Call 459-7772 for further information. DEATHS PAGE 3 - PLAINDEALER - FRIDAY, MARCH 25,1983 College Band At Area Church FATHER JAMES VANDERPOOL Father James Albert Vanderpool of Fredrick, Md. died Wednesday, March 23, in Frederick. He was 66 years old, born in Perryville, Kans. Nov. 4, 1916. Father Vanderpool was the first pastor of Christ the King Catholic church in Wonder Lake. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at Christ the King. At 11 a.m., Bishop Arthur J. O'Neill will celebrate a Funeral Mass in the church and burial will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Peter M. Jus ten & Son funeral home. « Library Story Hour McHenry Public library will begin a new eight-week series of story hours for pre-schoolers who have had their third birthday by Jan. 1. The 30- minute programs will run April 6 to May 25, and are Wednesday mornings at 10 a.m. The Library will also begin a new evening story hour since many mothers work during the day. Evening story hour will be held 6:30 to 7 p.m. on Thursdays. Parents are urged to register anytime in the children's room. The beautiful sounds of the St. Paul Bible college symphonic band will be heard as it presents a concert at the Alliance church, 3815 W. Bull Valley road, McHenry, Sunday, April 10. The concert will begin at 11 a.m. Selections vary from the capricious "Bugler's Holiday", to the powerful symphonic poem depciting "Universal Judgment". Directing the band will be Dr. Desiderius Klempay, a professor of music at St. Paul Bible college. Recent area high school graduates will be performing in the band. Pastor Gerald Robertson and the Alliance congregation invite the public for a morning of good musical enjoyment. DANCE SHOW Dance Show '83, sponsored by the McHenry East Campus Dance club, will be held Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 24, 25 and 26, at 8 p.m. in the teaching theatre of the school. The school's jazz band will also be an attraction on the program. RESIDENCE CHANGE Elsie Reiker, a McHenry resident for many years, moved this week from a Woodstock Nursing home to Durand, 111.
