Book reports need to be turned in, final tests taken and projects completed for final grades. The first year for ACS students has been an exciting and challenging one. Alliance Christian school is a ministry of the Alliance Bible church in McHenry. Believing that students need a Christ-centered education, the congregation led by Pastor Gerald L. Robertson researched Christian school curriculums and policies and ACS opened its doors in August, 1982. The school presently has 21 students in grades kindergarten through seventh. A traditional classroom approach is taken, with Mrs. Diane Watkins teaching grades kindergarten through third and Miss Cindy Landin in­ structing the fourth through seventh graders. Volunteer helpers provide music, art, physical education, Bible and French for the students. Next year, ACS plans to expand its program and provide a school- administered high school program of instruction. The philosophy of education at ACS has as its very base the firm con­ viction that real Truth is revealed by an omniscient God in His inspired Word. "For the Lord giveth Wisdom: Out of His mouth cometh knowledge and understanding." (Proverbs 2:6). The integration of all other areas of knowledge with that Source of true knowledge and leading students into a personal relationship with that Source are the goals of Alliance Christian school.
