Observed each year on the first Friday in May, it brings together Protestant, Roman Catholic and Orthodox church women in a worship experience designed to develop creative and healing relationships between all people. This year's service was written £y women of black denominations related to Church Women United. They take their theme from the. spiritual, "There is a Balm in Gilead", and their inspiration from the lives of black women who have left their mark on our country's history. The event will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton church, 445 Dartmoor, Crystal Lake, • at noon. There will be a salad buffet and each one is asked to bring a small salad to share. Speaker for the afternoon will be Mildred Crutchfield, a diaconal minister in the United Methodist church. Nursery care will be provided and a sack lunch is requested for each child. McH.
