Spellman commanded a 3-2 lead after the third inning scoring runs on sacrifices by Cliff Bartc'ain and Vic Romandine, and a double by Chris Lykke. Bimbos scored twice in the bottom of the third on a sacrifice fly by Joe Golf Instruction A golf instruction class for adults will be \ sponsored by the Parks a n d R e c r e a t i o n D e p a r t m e n t t h i s summer. The program is designed to teach the beginning golfer the fundamentals and rules of the game of golf. The classes will be held at Petersen Park on Mondays, Wed nesdays and Fridays for two weeks. The first session will begin on June 20 and the second will begin on July 11. Both will be from 2:30 to 4 p.m. The fee includes greens fees for nine holes. Participants must have their own clubs. West End Pub 17 McHenry Kiwanis Club 8 West End began their onslaught in the fourth inning batting through their lineup picking up 10 runs. A single by Scott Young and a double by Gary Swanson each brought two runs home for the 11-0 advantage. But the Kiwanis Club chipped at West End's lead with a homerun by Jim Mowery, who went three-for-four with two rbi's, and a grand slam homerun by Joe Knaack. The Kiwanis added two more runs with a single by Phil Schimke and Knaack, who batted two-for-four. West End Pub capped their win with a two run double by Ron Zelinsky, who batted three-for-four and a two run homo- by Ron Hiller. Sullivan Foods 23 River Shannon Marauders 10 Sullivan Foods defeated the River Shannon Marauders in a 23-10 battle. Sullivan got the action humming in the second inning with a three run homerun by Dave Bauer. While in the following inning, Tim Hocin picked up two rbi's on a single and Bob Mellick added a run with a homerun. The Maurader's, with the bat of Kelly Gartner, kept River Shannon in the game as he brought four runs home on two singles, with hits by John Miedzianowski and Ken Suchomski each adding runs. But a six run fourth inning with a leadoff homerun by Ray Hepner and two run single by Rich Hooper boosted Sullivan to a 23 run advantage. The Marauders attempted to come within 12 runs of Sullivans in the sixth, with hope sparked by a two run homerun by Gary McDougall and a single by Bill Gartner which turned into rbi on a two base error. However, tough defensive playing by Sullivan cut short the Marauders efforts with a game ending a double play. Tigers Sweep Pair From Marengo For Third Straight JOHNSBURG -- The Johnsburg Tigers of the Northern Illinois Baseball Association swept a doubleheader from Marengo 21-0 and 6-1 and raised their record in league play to 4-1. The Tigers had 17 hits in the first game. Dave Covalt pitched six shutout innings and Tim Murphy finished up to protect the shutout. Marengo finally pushed a run across in the final inning of game two. In game two, Brian Wilson, Doug Miller and Murphy combined on a two-hitter. Dave Mauer, Greg Bruce and Bill Jaskowiak all had three hits for the Tigers in the first game. Dave Colberg, Steve Mai and Scott Valentine chipped in two hits each. In game two, Bruce had three and Gary Schnulle and Dave Colberg had two. The Tigers continue play with a doubleheader with Delavan, Wise, at Tiger Field starting at noon.
