Extension For •Area Library >*After the proposal to establish a $}rary district in-the Johnsburg area ^as defeated by 25 votes at the April infection the citizens group, which was promoting the library in the com- Cnuinity Hied a request with the Illinois *£tate library which asked that the project be given a six-month ex- •tehsion of funding. This request for an Extension has been approved and will "allow the proposal to be placed before •the voters again at the November general election, and will also allow the library to remain open to the public for that six-month period. 'The citizens' group felt that the library had not been open long enough for all residents of the proposed library district to understand its .benefits to the community, or in many cases to even be aware that a library was available in the community. All persons residing within the boun- ;, daries of the Johnsburg school district , are eligible to obtain a library card at no charge and everyone is invited to visit the library for all of their sum mer reading needs. A full line of library services are available and if the book desired is not available in the library, it can be obtained through the inter-library - loan service. Almost any book published can be borrowed using the inter-library loan network. The library is located at 2404 Johnsburg road in Johnsburg and is open Monday,' Wednesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday and Friday, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. COMMUNITY CALENDAR JULY 9 McHenry Area Toastmasters- meeting, 9 a.m.-McHenry Country Club-guests welcome. - JULY 10 Old Time Polish Picnic-Pearl St. Park-noon til 6 p.m.-public invited- refreshments and food-free ad mission-concertina band-sponsor, Liberty Post 188, Polish Legion of American Veterans.
