JULY 20,1983 Barb Miller of McHenry, the P.M.AL. Theatre's current director for the musical, Stop the World-I Want To Get Off, was describing the story line of the play before a recent rehearsal. "Basically, it's about a very, very self-centered man who, emotionally, has never really grown up. He falls in love with the boss's daughter and marries and has children, but he's not emotionally mature enough to realize thathe is indeed 'in love' with his wife. So he's always playing around, but eygry girl he meets is really a carbon copy of his wife. It isn't until the end of the show that he finally sees his mistake and that prompts the song 'What Kind of Fool Am I?'. Barb Miller has been active in theatre all her life. She started acting at the age of 9 and later turned to directing as an adult. Barb began directing for the P.M.fcL. four years ago with the musical Gigi. Her theatrical endeavors include teaching workshops in acting and dance as well as instructing body movement at Marian Central high school in Woodstock. When asked who her favorite playwrites are, Barb replied, "If it's comedy I like Neil Simon. If it's drama I like Edward Albee and Tennessee Williams. When it comes to musicals, I like Stephan Sondheim." Stop The World-I Want To Get Off was also a personal choice. The play opens July 29 and runs weekends through Aug. 13. There is a matinee performance Aug. 7 at 2:30 p.m. For information and reser vations, call 395-3055. The P.M.* L. Theatre is located at 877 Main street, in Antioch. Seek Woman's Club Members There has been some response to our idea of starting a Junior Woman's League in Lakeland Park but we would like to hear from more. We want to have a meeting once a month for the women at the community house where we can plan parties and doings for the young children in the community. This will also be a great way for us to have a night out and a chance to meet our neighbors. If you would like to join us in the early stages of forming this group please call Sue Danielson 385-4017, Gloria Hocin 344-0673 or Carol Cominsky 385-7246. TENT CAMPING David and Sue Danielson took their children Theresa, Brenda and Brian to Hayward, Wis. for five days of camping out. Two tents were set up, one for the adults and one for the kids. Most of their time was spent swim ming and fishing. They are very upset with Carol Humann who was in the same area at the same time because she caught herself a very large fish. The Danielsons only caught little ones they had to throw back. Now that everyone is back in town they can get together and Mrs. Humann can share some fishing tips with them.
