The exhibit will be highlighted by a special appearance by "McGruff' the dog, the national crime prevention symbol, who will be on hand to emphasize'taking a bite out of crime." Other information will be available on the several other programs of the Crime Prevention Unit, headed by Officer Joe Marvin, including assisting businessmen and the public with education about crime prevention techniques, seminars on security surveys for business and i tial property and programs on protection, "Operation Identificatic ' for marking property and "Nc Watch" to help citizens help each other and the police. In Building E, the Woodstock Police Department will maintain a separate booth for their child fingerprinting pro gram, which was implemented to help with identification of missing children. During the trade fair, parents of children -up to age 16 are encouraged to bring their children for fingerprinting, which will be offered free of charge. Parents must accompany their children and the one set of fingerprints made of each child will be given to the parents for safekeeping, since no records are retained by the police department as part of the program. The police are maintaining a separate booth for the program in order to facilitate the fingerprinting procedure. Marvin said the department already has received a number of inquiries about the program. The fire department is a major service of the city government and Woodstock city firemen are cooperating with members of the WoodstoCk Rural Fire Department on a booth to stand adjacent to the general ci ty booth in Building D. Woodstock City Fire Chief Phil Parker said highlights of the firemen's exhibit will be a visit by "Sparky*' the fire dog, a slide show about smoke detectors and a demonstration of fire extinguishers, plus a variety of information on fire prevention. * As a special added attraction, among the outdoor exhibits at the trade fair, the firemen will display a 1928 fire truck, brought to Woodstock especially for the event from its home at the McHenry Coun ty Historical Society Museum in Union. The Woodstock Rescue Squad will main tain a separate booth in Building C. o MONOGRAMMING o SCREEN PRINTING TRANSFERS o LETTERING See Our Samples off Shirts - Jackets- Sweatshirts - Hats At the Business Showcase...
