Don Smith, instructor-caller from Buffalo Grove, will teach the basics and he says, "Try it, you will like it; or if you are rusty, bring yourself up-to- date." Those 16 and up, singles, couples and seniors are all invited. Wofndif&'club schedules sale The McHenry Woman's Club is holding a garage sale Saturday, Oct. i, from 8 a.m to 5 p.m., at the home of Evelyn Murphy, 5013 W. Shore Drive, Lakeland Park. In case of inclement weather, the sale will be held Saturday, Oct. 8. The group sponsors several civic projects throughout the year and proceeds from this event will be used to make more projects possible. The first regular dance of the season for members will also be held at the Wduconda Township Hall, the same day, from 7 to 10 p.m. Don Smith will call; Joyce and George Kammerer will cue the rounds, and teach a round dance from 7 to 7:30. Foresters meet ' St. Clara Court No. 659 of the Ladies' Foresters will meet in the Montini School Oak Room Thursday, Sept. 22, at 7:30 p.m. At that time, those interested may sign up for the outing to St. Charles scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 27. Anyone who is planning to attend but will need a ride is urged to call Barbara Hansen at 385-2174. A Day of Recollection at the Bishop Lane Retreat House has been arranged for Wednesday, Sept. 28. Sponsor sale The annual Fall "All Church Rummage Sale" at the First United Methodist Church of McHenry will be held Thursday, Sept. 22, Friday, Sept. 23, and. Saturday, Sept. 24, in the Fellowship Hall of the church. Thursday, and Friday, the hours will be from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, from 8 a.m. to noon. There will be bargains of every description at reasonable prices; plenty of good parkins spaces; and many pleasant ana willing persons to help in the selections and purchases. Everyone is urged to take' advantage of this opportunity to get some good buys. As an added attraction, there will be coffee and doughnuts available at a nominal costf so that one can enjoy a "coffee break" while shopping and browsing. Donations for the rummage sale can be brought to the church. Elm St. McHeri# 385-0170 The first Fall meeting of the Lakeland Park Women's Club began with a potluck dinner in the Lakeland Park Community House, and attendance was ^ good. Alter the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was recited in unison; the secretary's minutes of the previous meeting and the summer board notes were read and approved; the treasurer's report was read, approved and filed for audit. A report was given on the Flea Market, Mini Bake Sale and Craft Sale, and a check for $125 (proceeds of the sale) has been sent to the McHenry Area Rescue Squad. The September collection for FISH was $18 and a check has been sent to that organization. Sharon Gacek reported on the L.PJP.Q.A. and urged all members to come out ajpd vote Sunday, Sept. 25, at 2 p.m., at the community house. Absentee ballots will be available Saturday, Sept. 24 and Sunday, Sept. 25, at the community house from 10 a.m. until noon, for those who will be unable to attend the meeting. The Christmas project for the nursing home was discussed; also, suggestions made where to hold the annual club Christmas Party. It was unanimously decided to once again have a $3 grab bag gift exchange. The Secret Pals continuation was tabled until the October meeting, which will be Thursday, Oct. 13, at 7:30 p.m., at the community house. Marie Nickels and Barbara Metirer will be the hostesses.
