She had driven to Waukegan by herself for a routine health check. She was told to report to Victory Hospital for additional tests, and while there had a breathing problem, lost consciousness aad was immediately put in the hospital as a patient. Several hours later, , receiving oxygen anc 's, she was able to call Don to let him know* where she was and what had happened. Louise was released Thursday the 15th, and is now home recuperating, for which we are all thankful. Hank Krumweidie of Hidden Valley Acres, is now in a nursing home in Zion regaining and remembering his fric Cards would be appreciated. GARAGE SALE GRIPE Lakemoor residents are charged a fee for holding a garage sale. Alvce Kowal called after a disappointing response to her sale. It seems that signs put on Route 120 had been changed or taken down leaving the sale unadvertised. She is also concerned with the automated vehicles using areas besides the roads, cutting pathways into private property. And the cars which do not have local vehicle stickers but belong to local residents. Alyce has lived in Lakemoor for 50 years, and remembers the feeling of joy she had when she bought her home here-it was a "piece of heaven". But lately, the peace has been distrubed by vandalisms that have occurred and the inconsideration of others in regard to personal property and quietness. Well, there is a lady in Lilymoor who lives every day to the fullest and enjoys each one even while going through the tribulations life gives to each one of us. V Effie Hertel, mother of many, grandmother of more, is not one to sit idly by as each day makes her another day older. Example: on Aug. 18, accompanied by granddaughter Maribeth Johnson, she was off to see her family. No-not next door or in Illinois. Their first stop was Hazard, Ky. Hazard is true to its name, as houses are built on the mountain side hanging over the water below, making one believe it is a hazard. Then on to Guntown, Miss., where Effie once lived, to visit with daughter Agnes Sample and friends. Flatwoods, La. was the next stop, where they stayed with her son and his family for a week. The drive home was by a different route through Tennessee and Kentucky. Effie got home on the 31st of August, did her laundry and the afternoon of Sept. 1, was off to Loyal, Wis. with Valerie Wirtz and her daughter Rachael, to attend another family wedding. Effie returned home Sept. 5, to more laundry and tending to her home chores. Plus helping out at the Moose, reading books from the McHenry Nunda Library, and just being a very much alive, caring person, wno takes every day the Lord gives her with a thankful heart and busy hands.
