§f» Surgical Department Is In Service This recovery room is capable of caring for six patients at one time and is part of the new surgical department completed at Memorial Hospital in the new South Pavilion. Those most famil iar with the recently completed surgical suites are delighted with the department in the new South Pavil ion. Doctors and nurses discussed their satisfaction, elaborating on the important features of the faci l i ty Dr Richard Gorski, chief of the medical staff and an orthopedic surgeon, s^d "this new department is as modern as any you' l l f int l anywhere in the state " Sue Koeser, R N„ operating room supervisor, praised the equipment, adequate space and excellent l ighting She said the design assures smooth patient carefrom the moment of pre-admission, through surgery, recovery and intermediate care. Dr S Hasan,"anesthesiologist who has been at Memorial Hospital 10 years, cal led attention to the increased service the hospital can provide patients with four surgical suites. Audio-visual alarms indicate if pressure fal ls below a prescribed level The machines not only indicate pressures but tel l i f the concentration of oxygen being delivered to parents is correct.
