They are professionals in their own chosen fields and have donated their time, knowledge and expertise in running the hospital," he said. - "I relate particularly to members of the finance committee, having the honor to work with them directly." Jim listed their leadership in their chosen fields along with the skills they bring to the board: Lyle Anderson, owner of Autotrol in Crystal Lake, employer of 300 people Bill Frejd, owner of R&B Metal PrQducts, employer of 50 people. John Lillie, general manager of Claussen Pickle, one of Woodstock's largest employers. John is also chairman of the personnel committee at the hospital -.Clarence Sisson, chairman of the board of Marengo Federal Savings and Loan Association. Nancy Langdon, president of the Auxiliary and a leader in that organiza tion's programs of service and fund-raising Frank Zugel, former manager of the Eltra Corporation plant in Woodstock and now president of Universal Casting Keefe said the hospital could not afford to hire people with the knowledge these volurteers bring to board and committee meetings. He also recognized the present and past presidents of the board he's worked with during his six years, including Farlin Caufield, Richard Thompson and Frank Greenwald Keefe says the present expansion program is a major achievement but asserts other significant accomplishments have been achieved to improve service to patients. One is the continuing effort to contain costs with innovative programs and ongoing attention to cost containment: 'My disappointment is that we were not able to keep costs in line as much as I would liked to have done, but when you are dealing in lives and healing you need exceptional facilities, equipment and skills," said Keefe "Another concern is that with the large number of people involved in the modern hospital, rumors begin, which are unfoundedandcounter-productive to the mission of the organization. "One pleasant aspect of my job as finance committee chairman and treasurer is ihe excellent cooperation of Lee Pesce, executive director, and Gil Sather, director of finance." .
