Jewelry thefts are investigated McHenry County Sheriff's Police are investigating a number of jewelry thefts in the McHenry area. Shirley Haberkamp, 901 Florence, McHenry. reported the theft of several items of jewelry from her heme. A door was forced open to gain entry. Charles Reilly, 802 Oeffling, McHenry, called the police when he discovered several items of Jewelry and a six-pack of beer stolen from his home. Jerry Kara, 106 Country Club. McHenry, reported the theft of jewelry and rolled coins from his home. A stereo unit was stolen from the Wonder Lake home of John Talaske, 3006 Rosemarie. A window was pried open to gain entry. Adjustments in the coaches' salary structure and salary increases for the 1983-84 year also were given an okay. The salary adjustments and increases combined represent a 12.8 percent increase. In addition, the salaries lor speech and debate coaches, athletic trainer, and ticket manager were increased. Norb Wolter, of the Administration staff, gave, a brief overview of the results of last year's achievement testing. indicated that after two of using the SUA Basic ills Battery, the student achievement level over all is at or above the national average. Mathematics continued to show an increase while spelling remains low. He explained these test results are used both for am evaluation and for placement. Bill Dodds and Greg Johnson, principals of East and West campuses, reported to the board on the Challenge for Excellence addition to the ongoing district goals.
