Kighwaukee Life Member Club-Telephone Pioneers of Amer.-Mo. MR. AND MRS. HENRY SCHMITT Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schmitt, 1606 N. Court Street, McHenry, will celebrate their fiftieth wedding anniversary Saturday, Oct. 15. The 5 p.m. Mass at the Church of St. Mary of the Assumption, MCHenry, will be offered for the intention of the couple on this memorable occasion. At 6 o'clock a dinner by invitation will be served at the Johnsburg Ojfhlhunity Club, where an Open House will be held beginning at 8 p.m. for all their friends. '• Henry Schmitt and the former Rosella Freund were married in St. Mary's Church Oct. 18, 1933. Mr. Schmitt was born in Johnsburg; had worked as a carpenter for George Hiller & Son 39 years; and retired about 10 years ago. Mrs. Schmitt was born in McHenry and is a member of the Christian Mothers. They both belong to the Catholic Order of Foresters. The celebrants have four children, Allen, Janice and Tom of Crystal Lake and Ronald of Florida; and nine grand­ children. David Thomas Law son, Jr. was christened recently by the Reverend Thomas E. Partners host county meeting The September meeting of McHenry County Salon 483 Eight et Forty was held Sept. 26, at the home of Dorothy Messer, McHenry, with McHenry partners as hostesses. After the usual opening ceremonies of the Salon, the meeting was called to order by Le Petit Chapeau Betty Lingenfelter, McHenry, and standing reports were given by the chairmen. An interesting report was given by the partners who attended the La Marche held recently at the Sheraton Inn in Springfield, IL. Mrs. Camille • Erazmus of Palos "Heights was ?elected Le Chapeau of the Departmental d'lllinois. Her ' special project for the year will ,;,be a bed dedication at the National Jewish Hospital- National Asthma Center, Denver, CO, in honor of Fannie • E. Ullrich, Le Chapeau : Departmentale Passe. The theme this year is Symphony of Love. Becky Gabel, Fox River Grove, was awarded first place Book for her of in Area I Prayers. The budget was read by Ceil Violett, Woodstock, Budget and Finance Chairman, and approved. A contribution was sent to the Nurses Scholarship Fund. Betty Lou Smith, McHenry, Nurses Scholarship Chairman, reported this scholarship was established for the purpose of assisting nurses to secure advanced preparation and training for positions in supervision, administration or teaching, in connection with lung and respiratory diseases in children. Marion Karlove, Crystal Lake, Children and Youth Chairman, reported that contributions were sent to the Departmental Special Project and the Mothers' Fund, which is a medical fund for mothers of minor children of veterans of World Wars I and II and the Korean Conflict. Linda bressel will conduct -this month's workshop entitled, "Enhancing Your Wardrobe Towards a Successful Image". Ms. Dressel began her career with a local store six years ago on the sales floor in women's accessories, and worked her way up to fashion coordinator, a position she has held for the past two years. In her workshop, she will inform workshop members of the new looks in fashion, how to address them and how to design a complete wardrobe from a fevy basic pieces. She says those attending "will also learn how to reate their own fashion irisma necessary to achieve a sting image". The mentoring speech will be given by Inese Stokes of Tinley Park, IL, the Associate Executive Director of the South Suburban Council on Aging Senior Center. Ms. Stokes has a Masters degree in Counseling from Governors State University, Park Forest South, IL. She has had several years experience working with senior, citizens both in her present position and previously as director of a foster grandparent program. NAFW meetings are open to women of all ages and all walks of life. The organization provides support, networking and skills development services.
