Later, the newlyweds embarked on a honeymoon on the romantic Paradise Island in the Bahamas. The bride is the former Cindy Linn Affolter, 5227 N. Reserve, Chicago, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kurt (Georgia) Affolter, 8030 W. Eastwood Ave., Norridge, IL. Mr. and Mrs. John M. (Irene) Horvath, 1507 River Road, McHenry, are the parents of the bridegroom. Pastor Robert C. Hereth presided over the 4 p.m. nuptials October 9, before an altar decorated with two large altar vases of gladioli, carnations and chrysanthemums, in St. James Lutheran Church, 7400 W. Foster, Q^cago. The setting was further enhanced with white bows on the pews and a white lace runner. M u s i c a l s e l e c t i o n s appropriate for the the occasion included "Endless Love"by Richie; "Trumpet Voluntary by Clarke; "What Love Is" by Byrlred; and"La Rejousissance" by Handel. The bride wore a Victorian style gown of white silk organza, featuring a high neckline and puffed sleeves adorned with ruffles. Ruffles edged the hemline of the skirt and train; and the ensemble was embellished with Venice and Chantilly lace. Attending the bride as matron of honor was Mrs. Donna Kay of Bondurant, IA. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Debbie DaWidiuk of Schaumburg, IL and Nancy Mitsdarffer of Evanston, IL. A niece of the groom, Michelle Cooper of Byron, IL was the junior bridesmaid. Attendants were attired in Victorian style, abergine matte taffeta gowns, fashioned with a high neckline, and Venice lace puffed sleeves and yoke. Handling the dunes of best man was Gary Schwartz of Spring, TX. Groomsmen were Rick Ramhap of Oceanside, NY and Larry Behrens of Roselle, IL. The bride's brothers, Kim and Barry Affolter of Norridge served as ushers. The mother of the bride wore a sachet pink georgette dress with a V-neck ana mushroom pleats. An aqua floor length, polyester knit, sleeveless dress complemented by a long sleeve soft silk chiffon jacket with eyelet lapels and cuffs was the choice of the groom's mother. Following the ceremony, a reception for 160 guests was held at the Seville, 700 Barrington Rd., St ream wood, IL. Out-of-town guests included the groom's-grandmother, Mrs. Jean Prouty of Gardena, CA; the groom's ereat-aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Johnson of Torrance, CA; the bride's grandmother, Mrs. Irene Browning of Clinton, MO; and others from Iowa, Indiana, New York, Texas and Michigan. The bride graduated from Ridgewood High School in Norridge; earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Management at the University of Illinois, Chicago Circle Campus; and is a district manager at Jo-Ann Fabrics. The groom graduated from Forest View High School in Arlington Heights, IL; earned an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts from William Rainey Harper, Jr. College in Palatine, IL; and is an account manager for Pan American World Airways. MR. AND MRS. GUY DISNEY Mr. and Mrs. Guy Disney, 4408 Sussex Drive, McHenry, were married 56 years ago on Sept. 29, the same date as Mrs. Disney's birthday. Gertrude Disney was born in, Merrill, WI and for about six years, covered the news in Whispering Oaks for the McHenry Plaindealer. Guy was bom in Decatur, IL and had been employed for about 30 years as a supervisor for the U.S. Post Office in Chicago. the 6 couple lived in Chicago 41 years until they movea to whispering Oaks 15 years ago.
