Christine Irene Guffey, 85, of Lake Geneva, WI, formerly-of McHenry, died Friday, Oct. 21, at Geneva Lake Manor Nursing Center, Lake Geneva. She was born March 23, 1898, in Rich­ mond Township, to Martin and Mary (Schmitt) May. Mrs. Guffey was raised in Richmond Township; moved to Chicago where she was married; returned to McHenry in 1981; and later moved to Lake Geneva. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church;' honorary member of St. Patrick's Ladies Guild; Royal Neighbors; and past memBfer of Unit 491, American Legion of McHenry. Surviving are a son William (Bella) Guffey, Sr. of Salem, WI; four grandchildren, Mrs. Mack (Patricia) Booth of Gadsden, AL, Mrs. Dennis (Cathy) Ferrell of Kettle Island, KY, Mrs. Daniel (Michelle) Briand of Albuquerque, N.M. and William (Sandra) Guffey of Richmond. In addition to his parents, he is survived by maternal grand­ parents,iJSr. and Mrs. Louis (Theresa) Arroyo of McHenry; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Rie hard (Phyllis) Tyk of Crystal Lake; maternal nest- grandmother, Mrs., Ruby Arroyo of Lombard, IL; and paternal greatgrandmother, Mrs. Lottter Kluga of Naper­ ville. IL. He was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandfather. Mr. Charles Kluga; maternal great-grandfather, Mr. Daniel Arroyo; maternal great- grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Barajas; and paternal great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Capouch.
