She is an intern to Lee Milner in Public Affairs of The State Board of Education in Springfield. The Illinois Governmental Internship program is for high school seniors with outstanding ablttty and leadership. It is co- spooaored by the State Board of Education and Springfield public schools. The students Who are selected as interns take a full semester's sabbatical from regular studies. The Governmental Internship program enables high school aemora to explore career op­ portunities with an executive in encies and Interns and their government age related organizations. attend policy meetings, memoranda and repoi occasionally travel with sponsors. McCormack, Woodstock, was ehosen for the DAR Good Citizen Award from Marian Central Catholic High School. The senior' chosen for this award exemplifies the qualities of leadership, dependability, service and patriotism to a high degree. Thev final judging for state and national competition is on a merit basis. Each student selected will be judged on a completed questionnaire, a written essay, scholastic record, and a letter of recommendation from a member of the community. Each student chosen to represent his-her school as DAR citizen will receive a DAR Good Citizen Award and certificate. The final judging for the state and national contest awards will determine the winner of the scholarship of $1,000.
