IN PLAYOFFS In and around Woodstock lately, football seems to be in the minds and on the lips of most people. As I write this, one game of the play-offs has taken place with both Woodstock High School and Marian Central winning. Win or lose, it has been quite an honor for both schools to get into the play-offs. Since our son attends Marian Central, our family has been following the team all season. Knowing students on the Woodstock high ten, has kept us following mem through the Trs, as well. few weeks ago, a Marian game we attended was also attended bv a larse oercentage of the Blue Streak JV and Var sity teams, since they were not playing that night. They were the best public relations Woodstock High could every have! They were there to cheer cm another town team and were nothing but gentlemen sitting there in their Blue Streak jer seys. It was impressive. A friend once told me she thinks I like all kids and only see the good in them, which might be true, but more Marian fans than myself saw good things that night in looking at both the team on the Hurricane field and the Blue Streaks in the stands. Judy Bird of Lily Lake Park subdivision has been in contact with State Representative Dick Klemm regarding the problem of speeding, noisy vehicles on so- called "private" non-dedicated roads. Margaret Karas 385-4934 This meeting is of concern to residents of any subdivision who recognize the need for a change in state laws, which would result in non-dedicated roads being under the same jurisdiction as townshh), county and state roads, with support from all subdivision residents, control of the annoying and dangerous drivers using their roads as speedways could be started. Judy is looking forward to meeting Representative Klemm, and is excited that her first letters of concern to a state legislator have added fuel to ignite the fires of a public concern. LILYMOOR ASSN. Members of the Lilymoor Association who attended the regular monthly meeting the first Monday in November had an enjoyable evening on the 7th. The business meeting was primarily concerned with the financial problems of payinsfor the winter snow plowing. TMs service can only be done with the money from the association dues paid by every household. The yearly membership is $35, or about $3 per month: Arrangements can be made for smaller payments throughout the year. With 100 percent participation, the benefits can be greatly increased. Tnen the fun began, with the excitement of the fund raiser held this past month. "Jeff rides the commuter rail system from his residence in McHenry County to work every day. He's knowledgable about RTA issues..
