When the A&P closed its doors and boarded up the building at 3705 W. In an era when small businesses are constantly challenged for survival, and 8,000 closed their doors in just one year (1982), large facilities such as that manage to remain empty for long periods of time. Fortunately for the com munity, Sullivan's has filled a need in McHenry that may never have been met were it not her© & m there in Business Carroll joins saw firm in McHenry Kit Carstens, right/ chairman of the Economic Development Commission, prepares to present a plaque to Tom for the determination and of the courage of Tom Sullivan.
