Thompson said that the U.S. Department of Agriculture has approved the 11 remaining Illinois counties for emergency loans, allowing farmers in all 102 counties to be eligible for federal help after last summer's drought. "This is welcome news. Some counties in Illinois, especially in the southern portion of the state, were hit ljard by the summer heat and many lost as much as 80 percent of their corn crop. Until today, farmers in 91 Illinois counties could apply for federal loans. With the ad ditional 11 named today, mostly in northern Illinois, the entire state is covered for federal aid," the governor said. Officials at the Agriculture Department notified Thompson Monday that farmers in the 11 counties could be eligible for federal loans. Those counties are Boone, Carroll DeKalb, Jo Daviess, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry, Ogle, Whiteside and Will. On Sept. 12 the governor said that 19 counties were declared disaster areas. Two weeks later another 72 counties were added to the list. Federal officials said in- the at the time that more formation was needed on remaining 11 counties. Under federal farmers will be able to apply tor emergency farm loans from the Farmers Home Administration. The chorus is an organization of 50 voices, assisted By the following soloists: Martin Conway, baritone; Roy Redwanz, tenor; Bernice Blount, alto: Adele Froehlich, soprano; and Evelyn Soellner, soprano. Besides the "Messiah" there will be a portion of the program dedicated to the singing of Christmas songs and carols. These numbers will be sung by the boys' octet and the girls' chorus. Rations of fuel oil will remain unchanged at 10 gallons per unit for Period 2 which began Nov. 20. Period 3 coupons which also go into effect November 20 have been similarly given a 10 gallon unit value. Russell has been an active community worker during the past 12 years. He was one oithe founders of the Highland Shores Rescue Squad (now part of the Wonder Lake Fire Protection district). This community leader also worked for the annexation of Highland Shores and Sunrise Ridge into the fire district. Putting together a tenacious defense and 17 points by Steve Himplemann during the fourth period enabled the Warriors to defeat Grant 66 to 49. Three of those arrested were male juveniles and a fourth was a femaleiuvenile, according to police. The juveniles will be charged in the juvenile court system, police reported. Timothy P. Kins land, 18, of 1015 Ringwood Road, McHenry, is being held today in county iail on $13,000 bond and another alleged accomplice, Donald E. Miller, 19, of 555 Deep Woods, Mundelein, is being held in iail on $35,000 bond, sheriff's ponce said. Sheriff's police said that further arrests in the in vestigation are pending. The numerous charges against the suspects include residential burglary, burglary, felony theft and theft under $300.
