The organization has grown dramatically since those early years when a small group of dedicated parents assured services for their special children. Pioneer Center has always found the "silver lining' in the people it serves and in the people who support the ideals of helping the disabled reach their greatest potential. Promoting the welfare of the develop- mentally, mentally and physically disabled remains the prime objective of Pioneer Center. During this silver an­ niversary, many "silver linings" will shine. Pioneer Center hopes the public will be able to share its celebration at the Skate-A-Thon and other events throughout this twenty- fifth year. Skaters, as well as people who make pledges for the laps skated, are both needed. Spectators will help to cheer the skaters on and counters can help keep tabs of the laps skated. Young and old are welcomed. Last time an energetic group of skaters brought in over $4,000. Itv is hoped that with more participants and more pledges, the target of $6,000 can be raised.
