In the parking lot of the West Campus High School, 4724 West Crystal Lake Road, these boys and girls will be on hand to help unload cars, sort glass, load papers on to the truck, and all the many chores needed for a successful drive. Items which will help these organizations earn money for their community activities include: Newspapers with no magazines or junk mail in cluded, glass containers with all plastic and metal removed, "tin" cans which have been washed and flattened, used motor oil, cardboard and brown paper bags tied in easy-to- handle bundles, and aluminum ISVEK scrap of all kinds including 100 percent aluminum cans. One may also elect to receive 33 cents per pound for crushed all-aluminum cans which contain no bi-metal cans in the mix. If the cans are not crushed or are mixed with other types of beverage cans, the price paid is 31 cents per pound. Also, on the second Thursday of each month, the Defenders will pay for both aluminum cans and glass containers - 33 cents per pound for crushed 100 percent aluminum cans and 1 cent a pound for glass con tainers. This collection takes place in the rear parking lot of McHenry FS* (4004 West Elm Street, McHenry) Borden Street should be used to reach the lot. The collection takes place from 9 to noon. On Feb. 25,1983, the McHenry County Board of Health and the McHenry County Dental Society opened a clinic at Valley Hi to provide dental care for the residents of the home. This was to be a pilot plan for extending care to senior citizens, both in the county nursing home and those who live on their own, at well as other dentally indigedl residents of the county. Eight months after the opening of this clinic, the dental problems of the residents of Valley Hi are finally under control. This state of dental health was retched because of the help of individuals and organizations who donated funds for equip ment for the project, and the special services of the members of the McHenry County Dental Hygienists, members of thi organization volunteered their services without pay to improve the dental health of the patients at the clinic. Not only do thay volunteer their services no clinic days, but they come in when clinics are not scheduled to help patients who are in need of their services. Dr. Leslie Krieger, the representative of both the McHenry County Dental Society and the McHenry County Board of Health, in charge of the clinic recognised the public and organizations who donated to the dental fund, but added that without the help of dedicated hygienists, the dentists could never have brought patients to this state of dental health. Peggy Masters, president of the McHenry County Dental Hygienists, and one of the volunteers said, "Seeing tije improvements in the dental health of these patients gives us all a good feeling. We know the patients appreciate our care, their smiles and appreciation are all the thanks we need." The importance of this project to the McHenry County Dental Hygienists is evident from the county-wide participation of the participants. Aside from Peggy Masters, who to from Wood stock, the other participants are Diane Buss and I Brendt, McHenry, Jane Robinson and Oris Bethel, Crystal Lake, and Sue Barton, Harvard. With Phase I of the Dental Plan successfully implemented, pi«n« are being made to extend this service to other senior in need of dental care. An announcement will be made when these plans are finalized. The action follows a Postal Rate Commission recomen- dation. The price incentives for ZIP plus 4 mailings are baaed on the lower costs to the Postal Service of handling such mail. They are available for mailings of first- class letters or cards that are at least 500 presorted pieces of 250 nonpresorted pieces. Mailers who already qualify for price incentives for presorting to three or five digits of the ZIP Code can receive an additional half-cent incentive for using ZIP plus 4 on qualified First-Class Mail. ZIP plus 4 is expected to be used primarily by business mailers. They can fit coo- version assistance directly from the Postal Service by contacting their local customer service representative or postmaster. Postmaster General Bolger noted that service standards for the delivery of ZIP phis 4 mail ae identical to those of five-digit ZIP Coded Mail. The expanded codes already are appearing on some mail generated by btrtMMi!. Individual householders an not expected to notify business correspondents of the four-digit add-on to their ZIP Codes or send change of address in formation. Business mailers who choose to use ZIP plus 4 will generally obtain such ZIP phis 4 codes for all addresses from portal sources. The Postal Service officially activiated its; automation program last September, when the first computer-driven op tical character readers and bar code sorters were installed in a Los Angeles mail processing facility. By mid-1964, the Postal Service expects to have similar equipment in 118 mail processing centers across the nation. These facilities handle 75 percent of all outgoing mail and 60 percent of incoming mail. Automation can increase productivity significantly when used with the five-digit ZIP code. When used in tandem with ZIP plus 4, far greater productivity gains come within reach. THE INCREDIBLE 11% FIXED-RATE 30-YEAR MORTGAGE FOR OCEAN FRONT OR RIVERFRONT LIVING.
