Two years later, a Christian Day School was added to the many blessings which have been bestowed upon the congregation. The intention is to add the seventh grade next year, and the eighth grade the following year. Doing the honors of burning the mortgage for the congregation of the Wonder Lake Bible Church were charter members Lydia Dornbush, Roy Swanson, and Ruth Oesterlund. Special services were held Sunday, Dec. 4, to com memorate the occasion. In just 13 years the congregation has become debt free in the large facility located on 5 acres at the north end of Wonder Lake at 7501 Howe Road. The church was festively decorated for the holiday season and the special occasion as members and friends enjoyed a potluck lunch followed by a service of praise and thank- fulness. The faithfulness of God was stressed as the Rev. Richard Wright spoke to, the congregation on "God's Faith fulness in the Past," Pastor Merle D, Conklin spoke on "God's Faithfulness In The Future", and members of the former building committee shared about God's faithfulness in the completion of the project. In addition to the auditorium which seats over 200 on the first floor, there area also offices, nursery, and two large classrooms. The lower level ' contains 12 classroom phis the church library and some storage areas. A1 Jensen, member of the building committee, pointed out the uniqueness of the project when he noted that the church was financed through the sale of bonds. Since most of the members at that time pqjr- 1 chased bonds, the congregation not only paid off its in debtedness, but also managed to repay the investors with in terest . It was a joyful day for the congregation and the com* munity as the Wonder Lake Bible Church looks forward to future growth and expansion in its ministries to the community in all areas of life. The public is always welcome to the activities and services of the church. For further in formation, call 728-0422 or 728- 1687. JOHN L. FREUND FREUND FUNERAL HOMES • WONDER LAKE 76T1 HANCOCK DR.
