Lakeland Park: REFUNDERS MEET FOR COOKIE PAGE 13 - PLAINDEAL.ER • WEONF.RDAY, DECEMBER 21. 1M3 , COUPON EXCHANGE AND PARTY The Lakeland Park Refunders met at Carol Cominiky't home Tuesday, Dec. IS. Fourteen members were there for a refunding-cookie exchange* Christmas party. Each person brought a complete deal for the grab bag and Doris Schabow was the lucky winner of the prize of the day. Lauretta Palmer supplied a delicious Wassail drink to go along with the many cookies and desserts which were in abun dance. I was very surprised and so grateful for the special gift I received; a package filled with a complete deal in stamped en velopes, all ready to be filled out and mailed. _ CAROLERS A group of Brownies have been out spreading Christmas joy, singing carols for residents of Lakeland Park. Last Monday we could hear their voices, "Wishing You A Merry Christmas." I hope many of you get to hear them because it sure puts one in a festive mood. ENGAGEMENT The Cominskys are pleased to announce an addition to the family. Mike becameengaged to Sue Davis Dec. 3, so there will be a daughter-in-law real soon. Congratulations to Wonder Lake's future Mr. Universe! The Wonder Lake Bible Church will have its Morning Worship Christmas morning, beginning at 10:50a.m; and then a 6 p.m. service with the Elders in charge. SPECIAL DAYS These days, right before Christmas, are all special, but to some people a birthday sometimes gets "lost" in the other activities. Carol Thomp son, secretary at Greenwood School, will be celebrating her birthday Dec. 23; and we definitely don't want her special day to get lost! THIN ICE With the weather turning so cold now, it seems that the young poeople of our community feel the lake is ready for winter "activities. Please remember, though, that there are spots that never freeze over solid where there are springs. With the snow covering the lake, sometimes this is difficult to see, so check it out first before you venture to a new spot. The lake can be a vast won derland of fun-filled hours of pleasure, but also keep in mind the dangers that can be un covered. There are certain areas of the lake . that experienced snowmobilers will not go near, knowing that no matter how low the temperatures drop, these areas stay open. If you are new to the sport, it would be very wise to check with the Marina, members of the Lakers Snowmobile Club, or anyone else who rides the lake < on snowmobile to be certain of these dangerous areas. Our Rescue Squad has an excellent scuba diving team, but let's not have to use them! MERRY CHRISTMAS Hope Santa is good to all of you and that the joy and peace of the holiday fills your homes with happiness to last the next year through. Enjoy that holiday feast and don't think about dieting until after the New Year! Legal notice . IN THE CIRCUIT COURT OF THE NINETEENTH JUDICIAL CIRCUIT MCHENRY COUNTY.
