Although the weather was quite bad, 15 people braved the elements and attended the annual Marcia Mary Ball Circle Catered Luncheon and Christmas Party at the First United Methodist Church of McHenry. The Fellowship Hall was decorated very Christmassy and everyone had an enjoyable time. One of the highlights was a beautiful birthday cake and celebration in honor of Alvina McKaige's eighty-fifth birthday. Among the guests was her daughter Helen Walters, and grandson Paul. Lonah Wendlandt also had a birthday the same day, so "Happy Birthday" was sung twice. The luncheon was delicious, music delightful, fellowship super, no business was con ducted, and it all added up to a fun afternoon, and a perfect way to create the holiday spirit. The next meeting of the group will be Tuesday, Jan. 3, at noon, when Gertrude Anderson and Lyda Radisch will be hostesses. Guests and newcomers are always welcome at the Marcia Mary Ball Circle meetings, the first Tuesday of each month at noon, in the First United Methodist Church of McHenry.
