Dance-A-Thon is slated to begin at 1 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, in the McHenry County College cafeteria and last until 11 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 5. The theme of this year's event is "All Night Long". According to Easter Seal Public Relations Director Jenny Van Treese, "that's exactly what we want people to do -- dance and party 'all night long' on behalf of their disabled McHenry County friends and neighbors. Many of our dancers consider Dance-A- Thon a tradition and the best part of the winter season." Meals and snacks will be served every three to four hours throughout the event to keep the dancers moving. Prizes will be awarded around the clock through mini-games and con­ test. Dancers are required to have $96 in pledges for the full 24 hours. Dancers bringing in $100 or more will receive a free commemorative t-shirt. Dance-A-Thon is the largest fund reiser of the year for the Easter Seal Society for McHenry ~ County which con­ ducts physical, occupational and speech therapy for the disabled of every age.
