FEBRUARY 1. 1W4 general yui id ai News State Audubon director annual meeting speaker Warren DeWalt, executive director of the Illinois Audubon Society, will be principal speaker at the annual meeting and potluck dinner of the McHenry County Chapter of the Illinois Audubon Society. It is scheduled Saturday, Feb. 4, at the Crystal Lake Nature Center, 330 N. Main Street, Crystal Lake. As an added attraction, Bob Goard, of Spring Grove, will display his wood carvings. Goard has displayed at Merrill Chase Galleries in Chicago and at Water Tower Place. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. Each person should bring his own table service and a dish to pass. Coffee will be provided by the chapter. "Come early and enjoy browsing the wood carvings and chatting with friends," Barbara Medirig, president, invites. Rail service improvements go in effect February 1 The Regional Rail Ticket Program (RRT) is being ex panded Feb. 1 to include weekly as well as monthly commuters. • Service revisions on many of the railroads to improve passengers' travel flexibility is being put into operation beginning at the same time. I The Regional Transportation Authority's RRT program offers monthly and now weekly commuters the opportunity to use their tickets on any railroad in the region, except the South Shore. Passengers traveling beyond the zone listed on their tickets are charged 35 cents for each additional zone. The fare reduction means a savings of anywhere from $49 to $228 annually for monthly commuters depending on the distance travelled. Following is a list of the service revisions by railroad as they affect the Northwest Line: ...A new week day train, leaving the Chicago terminal at 1:30 p.m. and arriving in Harvard at 3:18 p.m. will be added. .. .Week day Train No. 615, which leaves the Chicago terminal at 3:30 p.m., will be extended to Woodstock, arriving at 5:05 p.m. Previously, the train terminated at Crystal Lake. ...A new week day train, leaving Harvard at 4:35 p.m. and arriving in Chicago at 6:25 p.m. will be added. ...Week day Train No. 654, which currently departs from Crystal Lake at 5:10 p.m., will be revised to leave Woodstock at 5:48 p.m. The train will arrive in Chicago at 7:20 p.m. ...A new week day train, leaving the Chicago terminal at 7:30 p.m. and arriving in Crystal Lake at 8:53 p.m. will be added. ...A new week day train, leaving the Chicago terminal at 10:30 p.m. and arriving in Crystal Lake at 11:53 p.m. will be added. ...A new Saturday train, leaving the Chicago terminal at 12:30 a.m. and arriving in Harvard at 2:18 a.m. will be added. ...A new Sunday train, leaving Harvard at 8:35 a.m. and arriving in Chicago at 10:20 a.m. will be added. ...Week day train No. 2117 will depart the Chicago terminal 15 minutes later at 2 will arrive at Fox Lake at 3:45 p.m. New schedules are being distributed at the Chicago terminals and at local train stations.
