Damon S. Townsend, 704 Logan St., McHenry, was taken to McHenry Hospital by the McHenry Township Fire Department following the collision. . The police report indicated that Townsend ran in front of a vehicle operated by Waldemar H. Wetzstein, 1300 Old Bay Road, McHenry. Wetzstein said .his car was moving slowly in traffic when the accident oc curred. Paul J. Millis, 10640 Avenue A, Chicago, was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way following a two-car accident in the 3700 block of Elm Street. Millis was attempting to make a left turn from a private drive when his car collided with another vehicle. The driver of the other vehicle was Robert R. Berry, 1913 High- wood, McHenry. Berry, whose wife, Cheryl, is the daughter of Robert E. and Dorathy Wright of 1402 N. Fairview Lane, McHenry, recently participated in a six- day port visit to Izmir, Turkey. He is a crew member aboard the frigate USS Stephen W. Groves, homeported in Mayport, Fla. The ship visited Izmir after spending several weeks, in cluding Christmas off the coast of Lebanon in support of the Multi-national Peacekeeping Force. While there, crew members also visited the ancient city of Ephesus, where they viewed the grave of St. John. The Stephen W. Groves is 445 feet long and carries a crew of 210. Varied fare offered in antiques course at museum For what may be the last time in this area, Leo and Constance Parenti are again offering their eight-week antiques course under the auspices of the McHenry County Historical Society, at the Society's museum in Union. The course will be presented every Tuesday from March 6 through April 24, with an im portant difference this year. An afternoon class, from 1 to 3 p.m. will be offered, plus an evening class on the same general topic, the same day from 8 to 10 p.m. Also, topics for the first five sessions will be the Parentis' choice, designed to provide a "core" program or body of knowledge about antiques, but the topics for last three sessions wilT be chosen by vote, with the attendees of the first day's classes deciding which three of six additional subjects they are most interested in. The sessions will include the following: 1, Introduction to Antiques; 2, "Ingenuity" An tiques; 3, Porcelain; 4, Prints and Early Photography; and 5, Textiles. Three of the following ad ditional subjects, chosen by vote from the six below, will also be offered, during sessions 6,7, and 8. Old Dolls, American Fur niture, American Glass, American Pottery, Metals and other "Antique" materials, and Nostalgia Antiques.
