Thompson has proclaimed March as Nutrition Month in Illinois. The ob servance gives the Illinois State Council on Nutrition an op portunity to remind citizens that sound eating habits and nutrition should be practiced throughout the year for good physical and emotional health. "The way we eat influences the way our children eat," says Virginia Hill, executive director of the council. She offers a few helpful tips: "Bake and broil, rather than fry; experiment with other seasonings in order to limit sodium intake; include a variety of foods in your diet; start reading food labels; create fun and nutritious snacks; fit exercise into your schedule and don't skip meals." Several nutrition workshops and conferences are scheduled throughout the state during March. For further information contact the Illinois State Council on Nutrition, 524 S. Second St., Springfield, IL 62706 or 217-785- 8664. Community Calendar FEBRUARY 29 Pist. Highlands Women's Club-Mo. Mtg. 7 p.m.-Johnsburg Comm.
