Up to $10 per tax­ payer can be designated to each fund, for a maximum donation of $30 from a single person or $60 from a married couple filing a joint return. Hie new check­ offs, together with o t h e r m a j o r changes in the Illinois income tax act this year, necessitated the development of a new computer program, Johnson explained. Other major changes included a property tax deduction (which allows residents to deduct property taxes they paid on their per­ sonal residence) and two business- related changes dealing with ex­ pense deductions the use of Nubain in p»in management.
