County nurses will sponsor program M All nurses living and-or working in McHenry County are invited to the next program sponsored by the McHenry County Professional Nurses' Association. This program will be presented by Craig S. Swenson and Dave Thomas, the sales representative and district manager, respectively, of the DuPont Pharmaceutical Co. The presentation will cover the use of Symmetrel, especially in flu and in Parkinson's disease, and Expect refunds on time State income tax refunds for the majority of persons who check off part of their refund for charitable funds will be processed within the normal eight to 10 weeks, according to Illinois Revenue Director J. Thomas Johnson. Johnson said that temporary ad justments to the present computer system will now allow most tax returns to be processed within t h e u s u a l timeframe. Earlier reports had in dicated that delays would occur. Those returns already filed will be first in line for refunds when the systems are ready, Johnson added. The check-offs are new to the tax return this year, Johnson noted. Taxpayers now can donate part of their refund to one or more of the three designated^ funds-" the Illinois Veterans Home Fund, the Illinois Non-Game Wildlife Con servation Fund, and the Child Abuse Prevention Fund. Up to $10 per tax payer can be designated to each fund, for a maximum donation of $30 from a single person or $60 from a married couple filing a joint return. Hie new check offs, together with o t h e r m a j o r changes in the Illinois income tax act this year, necessitated the development of a new computer program, Johnson explained. Other major changes included a property tax deduction (which allows residents to deduct property taxes they paid on their per sonal residence) and two business- related changes dealing with ex pense deductions the use of Nubain in p»in management. There will be a question and answer period following the program. Refreshments will be available for those who would like to stay a bit longer and get acquainted with other health professionals from around the county. The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m., March 14 at the Ambutal on Rt. 31 in Crystal Lake, All R.Ns., L.P.Ns., and aides are urged to attend. ^^ffgeneral^^™ News SECTION 2- PAGE 21 - PLAINDEALER - WEDNESDAY, MARCH 7, 1984 Car, cash stolen An estimated $50 was stolen from the kitchen area of Pizza Palace, 3400 N.
