10 Expo 84 Guide Expo should be fun for everyone Give the people what they want is the motto of Expo '84. "Last year, we asked people why they came back," chair­ man Mark Elmore said. "They said they came back because it was fun. So, what we did was try to make it more fun." Elmore and his staff of planners have invested 10 months into making the third annual Expo, planned for March 9-11 at McHenry County College, the greatest yet. The trade show is packed with entertainment, seminars and exhibits. Last year found 106 different exhibits at the show. This year, 160 local businesses will display their wares to interested consumers. "Even at that, there's a waiting list," said Elmore, a Crystal Lake architect. Area residents anticipating a good time at Expo probably won't be disappointed. A new floor layout, along with new exhibits and a few surprises, should hold their attention. More than 24,000 people, an increase of 10,000 from the first year, passed through MCC's doors for 1983's Expos.
