Emmer of Hartford, WI announce the engagement of their daughter Anne to John A. Diedrich, son of Joyce and Harold Diedrich, 403 N. Green St., McHenry. The bride-to-be is working towards a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at Marquette University. The future bridegroom is a 1983 graduate of the same school. An Oct. 13, 1984 wedding is being planned. C.&P.A. hosts Spring Fling Thursday, March 29, the Childbirth and Parenting Association will be hosting a Spring Fling at the Crystal Point Mall. From 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., homemade crafts of all sorts will be on sale. The Childbirth and Parenting Association is an organization of parents dedicated to promoting educational approaches to parenting and childbirth. HOWARD RAUHUT Mr. and Mrs. Howard Rauhut Sr. of McHenry celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary March 19, 1984, at a surprise party given in their honor at Harmony Resort on Pistakee Bay. Howard and Mae were married in Chicago in 1934. They have been residents of this area for many years, and are The March general meeting of the United Methodist Women of the First United Methodist Church of McHenry, hosted by Marcia Mary Ball Circle, began with a potluck luncheon at noon in the Fellowship Hall. The meeting was called to order by President Cindy Wolfe, and Nancy Hodges read an interesting article on "God's Peace Corps." A recommendation from the Mission Team that the U.M.W.'s Parsonage Bond be given to the church met with unanimous approval. The district meeting Tuesday, April 3, will be "A Day Of Spiritual Renewal" at Faith United Methodist Church in Elgin, EL. The speaker will be Betty Jo Birkha] Rommelfanger, who is pastor of the Ingalls Park Church in Joliet. The topic will be "You Are a Channel of the Spirit." The daytime session will be from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., and the evening session will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Reservations for the daytime session luncheon must be made by March 26 with Veretta Gerstad at 385-4043. The U.M.W. annual Spring Rummage Sale is scheduled for Thursday, April 26, Friday, April 27 and Saturday, April 28. On Thursday and Friday the hours will be from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, from 8 a.m. to noon. Volunteers will be needed to help set up for the sale; also, workers for the days of the sale. A "Shop and Share" fund raiser at a local supermart is being planned. The program was introduced by Linda Hastings - a movie entitled "Women Amen!" - describing the emerging con­ sciousness of women in the church. It was very interesting.
