SECTION 2 - PAGE 1 - PLAINDEALER - FRIDAY, MARCH 23, 1984 NIMC head honored NoraC. O'Malley, president of Northern Illinois Human Ser vices Corporation and Northern Illinois Medical Center (McHenry Hospital) is among a select group of hospital ad ministrators from the United States invited to join * an in ternational goodwill tour to Finland, the Soviet Union and China later this year. Stuart A. Westbury, Jr., PhD, president of the American College of Hospital Ad ministrators, said "Ms. O'Malley is a recognized leader in our profession, and Was selected for this singular honor because of her standing, background, and proven leadership. The overall purpose of this trip will be devoted to meeting people on a face-to- face, person-to-person basis, as we participate in a serious mission dedicated to peace and understanding, as well as learning about healthcare delivery in Finland, the Soviet Union, and China." Because it is not a federal function, the delegates will meet people from all walks of life, as well as those directly involved in health care. Briefings will be held with staff members of the American Embassies in Helsinki, Moscow and Beijing, and the American Consulates in Leningrad and Shanghai. Delegates will also participate in a heavy schedule of hospital and health facility visits in addition to meetings with health care officials in each country. Ms. O'Malley, FACHA, was named executive director of the hospital and its parent cor poration in april, 1983. Chair man of the board for these corporations, M. David Cain, said, "Ms. O'Malley's selection general News as a delegate reinforces the boards of directors' belief in her abilities. We knew she was an outstanding choice to fill the key role of president of the hospital. Her visionary capabilities are integral to leading Northern Illinois Medical Center from its role as a community hospital to that of a regional medical center. That the hallmark national organization of health care administrators thinks so highly of her abilities is a tribure to both Ms. O'Malley and this hospital."
