The shots are offered by the McHenry County Jioard of Health with the endorsement of the McHenry County Medical Society. Immunization for the prevention of measles, polio, diptheria, tetanus and other communicable diseases are offered the last Wednesday of each month. 1AHNERY • ROW! Named as chairmen for the event were Mrs. Janet Smith and Mrs. Mary Meyer, who will lead the McHenry community in a campaign/entitled "Give Yourself tltjfe Chance of a Lifetime", which has a^ statewide goal of $7.9 million dollars. Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Meyer noted that they are particularly proud to be serving the McHenry community in this capacity. This April, ACS volunteers will be distributing the brochure which details for each age group what individuals can do to increase their odds of living a healthy life. It is now possible to prevent 60 percent of all cancers. Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Meyer ask that every resident of McHenry carefully read this leaflet when the Cancer Crusader calls. They reminded the McHenry area community that the American Cancer Society needs the public's continued support to continue its research, as well as programs in public information, professional education and service. , Also announced was the name of Tim Althoff, who will direct the business crusade in the McHenry area. The free trees are part of the Foun­ dation's effort to promote tree planting throughout America. The Foundation will give two White Dogwood, two American Redbud, two European Mountain Ash, two Washington Hawthorn and two Flowering Crab trees to members joining during March. The 6-to-12 inch tree will be shipped at the right time for planting this spring, between March and May 31, postage paid with enclosed planting instructions. These trees were selected because they will give a colorful flowering of pink, white, and red blossoms throughout the spring.
