Car accident causes injury, brings arrest Plaindealer news service A two-car collision on the Route 120 bridge in McHenry early last Saturday morning resulted in injuries and an arrest. McHenry County Sheriff's Police reported that a car driven by Flint W. Turner, 141 South St., Crystal Lake, was heading west when it veered into the eastbound lane on the bridge and crashed into another car. The driver of the other car, Deborah Schultz, 2312 Manor Lane, McHenry, was taken to McHenry Hospital by the fire department. Witnesses said the Turner vehicle had been traveling "all over the road" for about two miles, according to the report. Turner was arrested for driving under the influence and improper lane usage. In Wonder Lake, Terry E. Robinson, 403 Midway, Fox River Grove, said he was driving on W. Wonder Lake Road and lost control on the icy pavement. However, the investigator noted in the report there was no ice to be found on the roadway and charged Robinson with driving under the influence and improper lane usage. Hie Robinson vehicle crashed off the road. Robinson was taken to McHenry Hospital by the Wonder Lake Rescue Squad. Two passengers were taken to Memorial Hospital, Woodstock. William F. Lewis, 1715 Oakleaf, McHenry, was cited for driving under the influence and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after his vehicle struck a parked car on Indian Ridge Road, near Hickorynut Drive. Lewis admitted to traveling at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the car on loose gravel. Charges are pending in a car- motorbike collision that oc curred at Ringwood and Thelen Roads, in Pistakee Highlands. Arthur Cowgill, 5406 Thelen Drive, McHenry, was turning onto Thelen from Ringwood Road when a motorbike struck the side of his car and left the scene. Police are investigating the * hit-and-run accident. Two drivers involved in a collision were cited by county police. Thomas E. Christy, 820 West Blvd., McHenry, was at tempting a left turn from Route 120 onto Lily Lake Road when his car was struck in the rear. The driver of the other vehicle, Karen L. Heinsohn, 27028 Route 176, Wauconda, told police she was distracted by two children and could not stop in time to avoid the accident. Christy was ticketed for driving without a valid license and Ms. Heinsohn was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Two people were injured in a three-car collision at the in tersection of Route 31 and Bull Valley Road last week. Edwin C. Benido, 1626 Lemoyne, Chicago, was driving north on Route 31 when an eastbound car pulled into the intersection. Benido was unable to avoid colliding with the car driven by Joseph T. Broderick, 5000 Bonner, McHenry. Hie Broderick vehicle then crashed into a westbound auto stopped at the intersection, operated by Cynthia D. DeRoeck, 3119 Justin Road, McHenry. Broderick and Ms. DeRoeck were taken to McHenry Hospital by the fire department. Broderick was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way. Mary Nugent, 5412 Louella, McHenry, was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after her car struck another vehicle on Orleans Drive. The driver of the other car, Trina M. Berns, 1004 Ringwood Road, McHenry, was taken to the hospital for examination and treatment.
