Smith, who has held the post of assistant supervisor for the past eight years, polled a total of 1,962 votes in the nine McHenry precincts and Schaefer received 1,406. Carried along to victory with Smith were two members of the People's Party, Albert Adams of Johnsburg and Walter Dean of Wonder Lake, who became the new assistant supervisors. "Showboat Serenade", a musical variety show in two acts, written and produced by Father Harold Nilges, will be presented at St. Mary's auditorium in McHenry.
