"I play Lord Loudoun, who was a Scottish aristo­ crat." Revill says. "He was Commander of the Conti­ nental Army, and he wield­ ed tremendous power. At the time. Washington was a Colonel in the Virginia mili­ tia. In one confrontation, Loudoun tells Washington there is no way that he and his men will become part of the Continental Army, as they were all a punch of irregulars." The filming of the min- iseries was a reunion for Revill and star Barry Bostwick. who appears as Washington. Revill and Bostwick had recently appeared together in a pro­ duction of "The Pirates of Penzance" at the Los Angeles Music Center. The special did have some humorous moments on the set. "We were film­ ing some of George Wash­ ington' in Independance Hall in Philadelphia." Revill says. "There were men in uniform everywhere to see that we didn't do any dam­ age to anything. I went to tou£h a table and one of the guards said I couldn't. •Why?' I asked him. It turned out that the table was an antique! Another time, we were in our cos­ tumes -- white wigs and scarlet coats." continues Revill. "Now I'm not as tall as George Washington but I really do look like pictures of him. I was looking out a top-floor window and saw tourists below taking pictures. I'm sure some of them picked me up at the window and are thinking they got a picture of Washington's ghost."
