Route 120, and after enjoying a leisurely dinner, they will proceed to the First United Methodist church for a pleasant and entertaining evening. Because of inclement weather, the March get-together of the group was cancelled. T.H.E.O.S. (To Help Each Other Smile) is a warm, friendly and casual group for widows and widowers, meeting the third Monday of each month for dinner at some local restaurant and then going to the church for an evening of fun and fellowship. This is a non-denominational group, with no age restrictions or dues, providing recreation and companionship. All widows and widowers are always assured a warm welcome. League focuses on health The month of April will focus on health issues for the Wood- stock-McHenry League of Women Voters. In keeping with this theme, the topic, "How Can a Community Determine if Cancer Hazards Are Present?" will be discussed April 12, at 9:30 a.m. in Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 404 N. Green St., McHenry. Babysitting will be provided at the church. Dr. Richard Warnecke, PhD., will be the featured speaker. He is an epidemiologist, on the faculty of the University of Illinois, and a staff member of the Illinois Cancer Council. Thursday, April 26, there, will i'i be a program of special interest to women. The American Cancer Society will present a film on mammography and an oncologist will be present to answer questions. This meeting begins at 7:30 p.m in Grace Lutheran Church, 311 Washington St., Woodstock. All interested persons are invited to attend these programs. The League of Women Voters is a non-partisan organization with interests ranging from environmental issues to voters' service. The 2 p.m. ceremony was performed by clergymen, Dick Sargent and Darrel Malcom. The bride is the daughter of Eugene and Donna Maris, 3217 Eastwood Dr., Wonder Lake. Milton and Lois Sewell, R. R. 1, Skidmore, MO, are the parents of the bridegroom. Approximately 100 friends and relatives were present to extend their congratulations to the newlyweds at a reception held in the church. The couple enjoyed a nine-day honeymoon in the romantic Bahama islands prior to becoming residents of Tab. IN. The bride received a degree in Music Education from Illinois State University in 1983. The groom graduated from Nebraska Christian College, majoring in Pastoral Ministries, and is a minister at Tab Christian Church. They are both earning their Master's degree at Lincoln Christian Seminary, Lincoln, IL. BPW holds fund raiser The McHenry Business and Professional Women will hold a fund raising day Wednesday, April 11, at a local bakery thrift shop. All during the day, one or two members of the group will be at the store to greet the customers and answer any questions they might have about the Business and Professional Women. The McHenry BPW will be given 10 percent of the entire day's sales and they, in turn, will present that amount to the McHenry County Historical Society. Appropriate musical selec­ tions, including "Amazing Grace," "Ave Maria," and "All I Am," were performed by soloist Celeste Mann, who ac­ companied herself on the organ. A roast beef dinner for 120 invited guests was held at 1:30 in St. Patrick's Church Hall, with Father Gaynor and Father Novak in attendance. Mrs. Weber's son Dick offered a toast to his "wonderful mom" and also, to her amusement, commented on her "two wonder children."
