APRIL 13, 1984 T FSfollowing the^p Church Palm Sunday concert slated Holy Week rites at Presbyterian church On Palm Sunday, April 15, the adolt choir of Faith Presbyterian Church * in McHenry will present Handel's Easter Messiah. The choir will sing at both the 8:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. services under the direction of Melinda Davis, with Evelyn Zvonar as organ ac companist. Passover Seder at synagogue Tuesday, April 17, at 6:30 p.m. a Passover Seder will be held by the McHenry County Jewish Congregation at the Synagogue, 8617 Ridgefield Road, Ridgefield. Rabbi Morris Greenfield will officiate. Dinner reservations will be accepted through April 12 by calling Eileen Franks, 815-923- 4243. The public is encouraged to participate. On Maundy Thursday, April 19, a Passover Seder meal and service will be held at Faith Presbyterian Church. A Seder is a reenactment of the meal that God commanded the Israelites to prepare and eat the night He led them out of Egypt (Exodus 12). This ceremonial meal was also the last time Jesus ate with His disciples before His death, and it was during this "Last Supper" that Jesus instituted Holy Communion (Luke 22: 1-20). Following the Seder, at 7:30 p.m., a Maundy Thursday service will be held. A highlight of this service will be a dramatic presentation where Judas' wife, Caiaphus, and Pontius Pilate are themselves put on trial. On Good Friday, April 20, at 7:30 p.m., a service will be held depicting the 14 stations of the cross. The sermon will include reflections on each of the steps and events which surrounded the crucifixion of our Lord. On Easter Sunday three services will be held, at 8:15 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. All of Faith's friends are invited to come and participate in these special services. For those in terested in the Seder meal, call 385-5388 for a reservation and information.
