DEATHS William Yung PAGE 5 -PLAINDEALER - FRIDAY APRIL 13. 1984 William Yung, 82, of McHenry, died Tuesday, April 10, 1984, in McHenry Hospital. He was born Jan. 24, 1904, in Yugoslavia, the son of Jacob and Katherine (Dauterman) Yung. Mr. Yung came to the United States in 1921; became a U.S. citizen; worked as a baker in Chicago for 20 years; moved to McHenry Township, where he was a farmer in the northern area the past 43 years; and was a member of the McHenry County Farm Bureau. Surviving are his wife Anna (Feit) whom he married Jan. 27, 1925 in Chicago; one son William (Barbara) of McHenry; two grandchildren and one great­ grandchild. He was preceded in death by both parents, one sister, two brothers, and a daughter Anna Marie, May, 23, 1938. Visitation was scheduled from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the George R. Justen & Son Funeral Home, where a^ Funeral Blessing will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday by Father John Holdren of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Johnsburg. Interment will be in Irving Park Cemetery. Memorials in his name would be appreciated to St. John's Restoration Fund. Frank N. Pitzen Frank N. Pitzen, 83, 7509 North Dr., Wonder Lake, died Wednesday, April 11, 1984, in Memorial Hospital for McHenry County, Woodstock. He was born April 1,1901, in Ingleside, EL, the son of John and Mary Pitzen. Mr. Pitzen was-a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1288 of McHenry. On Jan. 14,1977, in McHenry, he married the former Mary Sophia Sandefur, who survives. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Mary H. A Funeral Mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in Christ the King Catholic Church, Wonder Lake, with Father Dorance Tranel officiating, and burial in St. John's Cemetery, Johnsburg. Everyone is eligible. Only a pair of walking shoes and a spirit of fun are needed to join in the 20-mile hike to promote good health at birth for all. More than 250,000 children are born with birth defects in this country every year. Every person's pledge is needed to help make the next generation the healthiest to date. The walkers get sponsors to back them with pledges of money which will support March of Dimes programs in research, medical services, and education. Prizes are available to all. Classes and groups can also join together to win larger prizes. Last year 1.5 million people took part in 1,100 Walk America events coast-to-coast and raised more than $22 million to fight birth defects. The theme of Walk America is "Step Out." Everyone has a chance to prove stardom and community spirit. Registration forms are available at McHenry city hall. For more information contact Dorothy Steadman at 344-5096. Mary Helen Simonsen, 75, of McHenry died Tuesday, April 10, 1984, in Royal Terrace, McHenry. She was born May 14, 1908, in Darlington, WI, the daughter of Edward and Catherine (McQuaid) Rielly. Mrs. Simonsen lived in McHenry about 31 years, having come from Chicago. She was preceded in death by her husband Carl Simonsen, Oct. 1, 1971. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Patricia) Freund of McHenry; a son Kenneth of Elmhurst, IL; five grand­ children ; four great­ grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. James (Arlene) Mac- Dowell of Bradenton, FL, Mrs. Sylvester (Evelyn) Gavagan of Tucson, AZ and Mrs. Catherine Ziderowski of Richmond, IL. Free trees to promote planting The National Arbor Day Foundation is giving 10 free Colorado Blue Spruce trees to people who become Foundation members during April, 1984. Colorado Blue Spruces, evergreens with compact conical shape and silver blue- green color, were selected because of their many uses in home landscaping^ Foundation director John Rosenow said the free trees can be used as or­ namentals, a privacy screen or windbreak, or as living Christmas trees. The six-to- twelve inch trees will be shipped postage-paid with enclosed planting instructions in April or May. The National Arbor Day Foundation, a non-profit organizaiton, is working to improve the quality of life throughout the country by en­ couraging tree planting and conservation. The Foundation will give the 10 free trees to members contributing $10 during April.
