Optional beer tickets may be puchased at the door. Adults will be charged a nominal donation; a lesser amount will be asked for children; and those under five years old will be free. There are 200 advance tickets sold for each seating, with only 25 door tickets available at an increased price. She was eagerly awaited at home by he? brother Bruce, age nine and a half; and sister Sandy, five The date has been set and preparations are being made for the Spring Salad Bar Luncheon and Style Show, sponsored by the Zion Ladies Aid. The date chosen this year is Wednesday, May 9, with the luncheon starting promptly at noon. It will be held in the Social Hall of Zion Lutheran Church, located at 4206 W. Elm St. (Route 120) in McHenry. There will be many delicious and exciting salads to tempt one's taste buds, plus fancy cakes for dessert. After eating, everyone can feast their eyes on the latest in fashions for the adult woman, by a local women's apparel shop; and clothing for children by another local store which deals in that line. Tickets are available on a limited basis and it is advisable to purchase them prior to the luncheon as there may not be any left for sale at the door. The event is the Annual Spring Rummage Sale sponsored by the United Methodist Women of the First United Methodist Church of McHenry, in the Fellowship Hall (lower level) of the church, 3717 W. Main St. There will be ample parking space, many willing, smiling workers ready to assist, and while browsing and shopping, one can enjoy a delicious cup of hot coffee and a doughnut at a reasonable price. Donations of clean, good usable, salable items will be appreciated, and rummage can be brought to the church beginning Monday, April 23, and left in the Fellowship Hall. Games for the young and young at heart will include Duck Pond, Five Pin Bowling, and the Pocket Lady. Prizes will range from stuffed animals and hats to lollipops and finger gadgets. A favorite of many is the Moon Walk, Cake Walk, or Be A Clown and Have Your Face Painted. One can visit the General Store, purchase goodies at the Bake Sale, and there will be nachos, hot dogs, drinks and chips available for a lunch break. The public is invited to come for a day of fun at SEDOM Center, 1200Claussen (Dane) St. (just off Hwy. 14 and W. Jackson St., behind Claussen Pickle Factory).
