We extend to all the friends of the community a cordial invitation to participate in our celebration of this Krekt day.' The Alliance Church is located at 3815 W. Bull Valley Rd., McHenry. Nursery care is provided for all services. By Kurt Begalka Plaindealer News Service The Sunrise Ridge Association plans to announce rebates totaling some $6,000 in next month's newsletter to its property owners. "Two years ago, when they increased the dues by $5 per lot, they did it illegally," Wonder Lake Village President Duane Zeman told trustees Tuesday night. may a The June 27, 1982, minutes cipate state: "A quorum Vas great established with 51 lots in/at tendance." Yet the vote on a motion to increase dues from $10 to $15 per year shows a total of 62 votes-34 in favor, 28 opposed. The minutes state the motion passed, but in fact it failed. The necessary two-thirds majority was not achieved. "The president banged the gavd and said motion carries, and no one caught it," Zeman said. Sunrise Ridge also voted last month to continue to issue its own beach sticker and not go to a combined village-association sticker. Zeman said she discovered the error while investigating the idea of vehicle stickers to benefit the roads. Her proposal that the association return $5 per lot per year to the village road fund was denied by the Sunrise Ridge board. 4 Zeman and members of the village board were not en couraged by the decision. "We're all one people here." Association President Mae Gaddis accused Zeman of using "underhanded" tactics and trying to force the association intd approving a $5 contribution for the roads. "She's been trying her best to break this association," Gaddis added. "If she can't get us on this, she'll get us on something else." Zeman denied trying to black mail anyBoify. "Anyone has the right to ask for the minutes," she said. "All I did was tell the truth. It's easy to throw rocks." Mike Heger, association vice president and holder of the same office at the time of the miscount, said he was "shocked" when the mistake was uncovered. He stressed DEATHS there fas no intent whatsoever to hide the facts and explained the vote disparity was due to "people wandering in." "It was an honest mistake," Gaddis said. "Evidently, no one bothered to do their arith metic." Gaddis said the association plans to rebate $10 per lot, $5 for each year. However, the association will request a vote on a one-time assessment of $10 per lot. If approved, this would cancel the $6,000 owed and avoid the mailing costs and paperwork of refunding the money. Gaddis added that the board will then go for an entirely new vote to raise the dues to their present level. "That's the only way I could figure out how to do it," she said. "To me it's better to be honest. That money was charged wrongfully." George J. Letzter, Jr. 11MITBLDNE -iV^DAl iau hi* Feist Foto DRIVE-IN FILM & PROCESSING 4400 W.
