y / jSEC^lg^^^AG^^^LAINDEALE^WEDNESDAYj^JLPRII^SjJWM McCullOm Lake : SURPRISE ANNIVERSARY PARTY HELD A surprise party was held in the home of Bob and Ariette Cable Friday, April 13, honoring James and Sandra Conway on the occasion of their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary. Fifty friends and relatives gathered to enjoy hors d' oeuvres, beverages and cakes. Sandra's wedding dress was on display on a mannequin in the living room. The highlight of the evening was a-"Mock Wedding" per formed by Minister Dennis Conway, dressed in his blue Dawn Miller 385-4901 gown. The flower girl, John Klapperich, was dressed in a yellow floral print dress. The bridesmaid, Bill Walter, followed, dressed in a white Carol Ricken served as best man, and Shirley Klapperich portrayed the father of the bride complete with the shotgun in hand. The groom, completely outfitted in a gray suit, was Jackie Ray craft. And la$t, and most lovely, was the blushing bride, Ted McNish, complete with rhinestone false eyelashes. After the happy couple was pronounced man and wife, the minister told the joke about the corn kernels to solemnize the vows. It was quite an impressive show, one that none of us in attendance will ever forget. Afterwards, everyone gathered around to watch the happy couple open their gifts and envelopes that were lying in the branches of a silver sprayed evergreen (money tree). James and Sandra Conway were married April 18, 1969. Ttoey have two children, Dawn (Bishop) and Jim, and two grandchildren. To further celebrate their anniversary, the Con ways went on a cruise of the islands for a week. We wish them much happiness in the next 25 years. CARNIVAL > * The Beach Gals' annual Easter Carnival was a success. The weather permitted, and the egg hunt was held outside. Her son, Joey, (a first grader) was approached when he got off the school bus by an 11-y ear-old boy who came toward him with an open jack knife. Joey didn't stay around long enough to find out what the other boy's intentions were and luckily he made it home safely, but he was definitely scared silly. Linda Schubel 385-0441 Why that boy"had a jack knife in the first place is hard to un derstand. Perhaps we parents need to pay a little more at tention to what our children have in their possession. An innocent child could have been hurt! CLEAN-UP Some of the residents of the Riverview Bay area are in terested in getting the bay area dredged and in general the area cleaned up. Anyone who has an interest in the project or would like further information may contact Juanita Roth at 385-5935 for details.
