Steve Lusk named hospital's March SECTION 2 ~ PAGE »- PLAINDEALER - FRIDAY, APRIL 27, 1M4 The Northern Illinois Medical Center's employee-of-the-month for March is Steven Lusk, evening houseman for En vironmental Service. A resident of McHenry, Lusk started working at the hospital while still a high school student. After graduation, he became a full-time employee, choosing to pursue career opportunities in Environmental Service. Presently he is using his four- and-a-half years of experience to work toward a Steve Lusk, center, accepts his gifts as March employee-of-the-month at Northern Illinois Medical Center. Hie honor of being selected as an outstanding employee at the hospital, "...came as a total surprise," Lusk said. "The people I work with are pretty nice. It means a lot when people, like that nominate you for an award." As employee-of-the-month Lusk received a silver pen and pencil set, a paid day off, dinner for two at an area restaurant, and a certificate com memorating the honor. Em ployees are nominated by co workers and department managers. Nominees are considered to have given out standing service, grown per sonally and professionally, and work consistently to fulfill the goals and objectives of the hospital. ^ffgeneral^^™ News 'Big band' dance set by Tebala Mini-Bikes The Tebala Mini-Bikes of McHenry County will present the Shrinanigans, Saturday, April 28, at the McHenry County Fairgrounds, Building D. Dancing will be held from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. The Shrinanigans, a unit of Tebala Temple in Rockford, are a 17-piece orchestra which specializes in music of the Big Band Era. The Tebala Mini-Bikes, sponsors of the dance, were formed in 1971 as a parade unit for the McHenry County Shrine Club. In 1981 they became a temple unit of Tebala Temple in Rockford and their travels have taken them as far as Detroit, Mich.,'Paris, 111. and Necedah,' Wis. The Shrine slogan is "We play • so they can walk," and all proceeds gained by the mini-' bikes performances are used to' treat crippled children up to the age of 18. Their primary goal is- to raise money for the 22 Shrine' hospitals. Two charged with aggravated battery Plaindealer news service Aggravated battery charges have been brought against two men involved in a knife-slashing incident that occurred early Wednesday morning near McHenry. McHenry County Sheriff's Police were called to a disturbance at the home of June Fuller, 2210 Manor Lane, in Eastwood Manor. According to police, Ms. Fuller was involved in a physical confrontation with her boyfriend, Roger B. Nelson, of the same address, when a third party tried to end the fight. Police said Nelson allegedly dashed Michael Bishop, of 1218 N. Green St., McHenry, with a kitchen knife when Bishop a attempted to end hostilities bet ween Fuller and Nelson. Bishop then followed Nelson out to a car, where he allegedly slashed Nelson on the arm with a pocket knife. Nelson was charged with aggravated battery and battery. Bishop was arrested for aggravated battery.
